William J. Hanson, Chief Executive
Officer
Bill Hanson, cofounder of Torrey Pines
Research, has over 30-years experience in the
conceptualization, design and development of non-impact
printing and electronic imaging systems. He has led
strategic product development efforts for major corporations
including product planning and market research programs for
complete product lines. He built and managed several
engineering departments and product development teams and
has held full responsibility for the development and success
of more than 20 products.
Mr. Hanson's technical expertise is in non-impact printing
processes including electrophotography, electrography,
magnetography, inkjet and thermal transfer. He also has
expertise in print quality, process controls, system
integration and mechanical design. He has held engineering
management positions with DatagraphiX Corporation and Xerox
Corporation. He served 14 years at Xerox Corporation in
research and development of advanced printing technologies.
Mr. Hanson holds numerous patents related to
electrophotographic marking processes with several
additional patents pending. He earned a Bachelor of Science,
Mechanical Engineering, from the New Jersey Institute of
Technology.

outstanding work in the science or technology of electrophotography “for his
innovation and leadership in the creation, incubation, development, and
